If you’ve spent any time in the quilting world, chances are you’ve come across the work of Rachelle Denneny. And if you haven’t, well — you’re about to.
Let me introduce you to Rachelle — the very clever human behind Rachelle Denneny Designs.
I first met Rachelle properly at a lunch with Jemima from Tied with a Ribbon, and I remember thinking straight away that she was a bit amazing. Since then, we’ve bumped into each other at all sorts of industry events and have worked together on pattern bundles, which is always a good time.
Rachelle is one of those people who gets on with things… and gets a lot done. Her work ethic is seriously impressive, and there’s a consistency to her creativity that I really admire.
Her quilts are modern, thoughtful, and beautifully put together without being fussy. One of my favourites is Front Row — it’s bold, clever, and just really satisfying to look at (and yes, I imagine, to sew… if you’re a quilter).
If you’re in the mood to commit to something a bit bigger, she’s currently running a Block of the Month called Summerfield, and she also has a bunch of self-paced courses on her website. Perfect if you like learning in your own time without someone yelling “keep up” at you.
Also, a small public service announcement: if you’re not following her on Instagram, fix that. On Sundays she does a Show and Tell series which is a great peek at her catalogue and honestly just a nice way to spend a few minutes.
