Let me introduce you to Janelle Skene, the thoughtful, talented designer behind My Nanna Does That.
Nellie has been designing for years, previously creating under the name The Janelle Wind Collection. Many long-time quilters will already have one of her patterns tucked into their stash. Her work has always had a strong sense of warmth and tradition, and over time it has grown into the gentle, nostalgic brand she now shares through My Nanna Does That.
There is something deeply comforting about Janelle’s style. Her projects celebrate classic patchwork, applique and quilting, but they never feel fussy or dated. They feel usable. Lovable. Made to live with.
The name My Nanna Does That says it all really. There is a beautiful nod to heritage in her designs, but they are created for modern makers who want to enjoy the process without feeling overwhelmed. Her patterns are clear, considered and genuinely satisfying to sew.
