Pattern Use & Copyright Policy
Pattern Use, Copyright & Maker’s Policy
I’m so happy you’ve chosen one of my patterns! Before you start stitching, here’s everything you need to know about how you can use Ric Rac patterns fairly (and kindly).
For Personal Use
All Ric Rac patterns are for personal, non-commercial use.
That means you’re absolutely welcome to make toys, dolls, and softies for yourself, your friends, and your family. Print the pattern as many times as you need, sew at your own pace, and enjoy every stitch.
Selling Finished Toys
You’re very welcome to sell small quantities of finished toys made from Ric Rac patterns — craft markets, online shops, and charity stalls included!
All I ask is that you please credit the design with a quick note such as:
“Made with a Ric Rac sewing pattern”
Please keep it small-scale and handmade. These patterns are designed for individual makers, not mass production or factory use.
What’s Not Allowed
To comply with copyright law, you cannot:
-
Copy, share, or redistribute the pattern or instructions
-
Sell or share the digital files or printed templates
-
Rework, modify, or reproduce the pattern for resale
- Mass produce any items from the patterns
If someone admires your make (and they will!), send them over so they can grab their own copy.
Questions?
If you’re unsure about anything or want to double-check how you can use a pattern, I’m always happy to help.
Drop me a message through the contact page or email at jodie@jodiericrac.com and I’ll reply as soon as I can.
Hi Jodie
I have read your copywrite policy and totally agree ,just like if I go to a class I have paid for that class ,And so should others ,if I pay for it so should others , I am in a Co Op craft shop and I have made Gary the sea gull as the shop is at a marina and he was snapped up quick ,I had a tag that said made from a ric rac pattern ,we have 17 members making items , I am the only doll maker ,our shop is half the size of a small bedroom,so most items are limited quantities. I do make a second copy of the pattern pieces of all my Patterns in case I lose a piece , I look forward to making the giraffe ,most likely for next year s Easter show ,hope this meets with your approval
Kind regards
Nerida
