Which Giraffe Sewing Pattern Is Right for You?
If you’ve ever wanted to sew a giraffe, then you’ve come to the right place.
Whenever I design a new toy, I always end up thinking of other ways I could’ve made it—or what I’d add next time. A beginner giraffe sewing pattern doesn’t really need a wardrobe of clothes... and yet, I still want to make a wardrobe of clothes.
That’s how we ended up here, with three different giraffe sewing patterns, each with their own personality.
For Beginners: The Hand-Sewn Giraffe

This little guy is completely hand sewn — the perfect slow-stitch project.
You’ll only need two simple stitches to bring him to life.
If you’re looking at those spots thinking “that’s a lot of work,” don’t worry — each one is just three random straight stitches next to each other. The blobbier they look, the better. (That’s the secret!)
Skill level: Beginner
Sewn by: Hand
Finished size: 9 inches tall
For Gifts : The beginner Machine-Sewn Giraffes

If your sewing machine is calling your name and you want something fun you can finish in an afternoon then this one’s for you.
These two are crowd favourites and make the perfect handmade baby shower or birthday gift. Popular with market makers, they hit that sweet spot between “quick sew” and “wow, I actually made that!”
Skill level:  Beginner
Sewn by: Machine
Finished size: 12 inches tall for Flannery and just over 9 inches for Ferg.

Ready for a bit more: Noodle & Peach

If you want to go a little extra, then its time for Noodle and Peach. The rag-doll style duo with style.
Noodle wears tiny shorts and a cardigan, like those toddlers who look like grandpa's, and Peach wears a reversible dress that might just make you jealous.
This pattern is the most detailed of the bunch — two giraffes, clothing, felt details, and loads of opportunities to play with fabric. You can make them in cotton, minky, or even velvet for that cozy, squishy look.
You could gift this with a variety of clothes and win Grandma (aunty, friend) of the year!
Skill level: Confident beginner/Intermediate
Sewn by: Machine
Finished size: 17.5 inches (Peach) & 14.5 inches (Noodle)

Tips for Choosing the Right Giraffe Pattern
Still unsure? Here’s how to decide:
-
No machine, no problem: Start with the hand-sewn version.
-
Love a challenge: Try Noodle & Peach — the clothes are worth it.
-
Want a quick but satisfying make: Go for the middle-sized machine-sewn giraffe.
-
Need a gift idea: Any of these make the most beautiful handmade present — especially for nurseries or baby showers but for a quick win, I'd try Flannery & Ferg.
