It’s funny how friendships happen in the internet craft world.
I was introduced to Leela from The Maker’s Stash through my friend Lauren from Molly and Mama — who you may remember as one of my previous Good Eggs.
And although Leela and I live in different parts of Australia, I’ve been following along with her stitching adventures ever since — her projects, pop-up shops and, of course, her love of all things slow stitching.
If you love English Paper Piecing, beautiful fabrics, hand stitching and generally making lovely things very slowly, Leela is your person.
Meet The Maker’s Stash
Leela is the creative force behind The Maker’s Stash and an English Paper Piecing pattern designer, slow-stitch educator and textile artist.
Her work is all about enjoying the process — hand stitching, using beautiful fabrics, playing with colour and making things without necessarily needing to race towards the finish line.
For my Dozen Eggs Pattern Share, Leela generously shared her Happiness is Stitching a Hexie Flower pattern.
And really, the name says it all.
It’s a gorgeous little embroidery project featuring a hexie flower and is exactly the sort of project that makes you want to rummage through your scraps, find your favourite threads and settle in for a bit of hand stitching.
