Meet Amy Kallissa

Part of my Friends of Ric Rac series — where I introduce you to brilliant makers and share a free pattern each month.

This month’s Good Egg is Amy from Amy Kallissa — stitchery designer, fabric enabler and one of my favourite slightly chaotic humans.

Amy and I first met years ago at a craft show… although technically it was our mothers who met first.

We had neighbouring booths and our mums were both helping out, quickly bonding over what terrible bosses Amy and I apparently were. There was a lot of joking about being “the dogsbodies”, a lot of caffeine, and an honestly irresponsible amount of laughing over four very long days.

Amy and I have been friends ever since.

We don’t see each other nearly enough these days, but when we do it’s basically nonstop talking, laughing and trying to finish one conversation before accidentally starting six more.

Amy is funny, irreverent, slightly rude in the best possible way, and exactly the sort of person I gravitate towards. Her stitchery designs have that same energy — clever, nostalgic, full of personality and never too precious.

Amy also has a fantastic online shop full of stitching supplies, gorgeous fabrics and dangerously tempting accessories that somehow leap directly into your shopping cart.

Freebie

As part of the Good Egg series, Amy has shared a free pattern with us.

Then settle in for a proper browse through her shop. You probably won’t leave empty handed.
